1938 with 429km/h on the German Autobahn
some historic places around Frankfurt that are almost forgotten. todays 28th of january and 74 years ago Bernd Rosemeyer (who was the first person driving over 400km/h on a regular street) crashed @ 429,491km/h on the German Autobahn (between Frankfurt and Darmstadt) with his Auto Union. same day Mercedes set a new top speed record with 436,895km/h
just for the back of the head - the 1001PS Bugatti has a top speed of 407km/h
